Hampden Park Stadium, Euro 2020 Refurbishment Works

  • Hampden Park Stadium, Euro 2020 Refurbishment Works

Project Description

The refurbishment works at Hampden Park Stadium in 2017 were predominantly to improve the spectator experience from the VIP boxes and lounges within the Stadium and comply with the host criteria of the Euro 2020 tournament requirements and as such the project team worked with both Hampden Park Limited and the Scottish Football Association as project Stakeholders.

Split into 3 primary sections, the scope of work included:

  • The redesign / refurbishment of 26 Executive Boxes within the Hampden Park South Stand, into “Sky Boxes”. This included the full strip out of the existing boxes and redesign to include a new interior fit out with a new curtain walling to the pitch side and the replacement of all VIP box seating and associated terrace structures.
  • The redesign / refurbishment of Hampden Lounges 1 & 2 within the Hampden Park North Stand, into “Sky Lounges” This also encompassed the refurbishment of the associated toilet facilities and the Royal box.
  • M&E works and upgrades associated with the refurbishment including the supply and installation of new AHUs on the stadium roof.

Due to the nature of the works and stadium operations 3 sectional completions were required for this project.

“This project will provide spectators with modern and flexible skyboxes and skylounges to enjoy the variety of events that Hampden host and in addition provide a dramatic new look and feel to the North Stand Lounges.”

Peter Dallas, Managing Director of Hampden Park
