Project Description
Pollok Stables and Sawmill are Grade A and B listed buildings which form part of the overall Pollok House estate. The stables are in a semi-derelict state and this project aims to revive the buildings to provide a new visitor attraction within Pollok Park.
The project is currently in the process of being issued out to tender and the works include the following.
- Extensive stonework and roof repairs to ensure the buildings are all wind and watertight
- Refurbishment of the existing stables to allow Clydesdale horses to be brought back to site
- Refurbishment of the existing buildings to provide visitor attractions and usable teaching/social spaces including a café and kitchen.
- External terrace with lookout over the White Cart River.
- The project aims to provide a net-zero attraction and demonstrate renewable technology with the use of hydro power and PV paneling.
Our Role / Scope
Doig+Smith are appointed to provide Quantity Surveying and PD services from Strategic Support Partnering Service stage through to Financial Close and subsequent Cost Management services through to completion on site.
Doig+Smith produced various cost estimates through the Stage 1 and Stage 2 submission, working collaboratively with the Design Team to ensure that the emerging design remained within the Affordability Cap.
Doig+Smith have produced bills of quantities for inclusion in the overall tender document and will undertake a pre tender estimate to ensure the Client has foresight of the likely value of the tender returns. Our services post financial close will include monthly valuations and cost reports as well as ongoing change management.
