Project Description
Robert Gordons College are developing proposals for a new Sports Building, which will sit in the location of their existing Science Block. Through the development of the Sports Building project it became apparent that, in order for the Science block to be demolished, a series of enabling works were required.
The works included the refurbishment and extension of the existing Dining Hall.
The new dining hall extension creates a modern dining facility, including new office space and additional storage space for the after school club.
The external façade comprises of the installation of a large curtain-walling frontage to maximise the amount of natural light combined with aluminium and steel cladding to give a high quality, durable finish.
Internally, new glazed internal partitions form office space, and the dining hall has benefitted from the installation of new floor, wall and ceiling finishes including works to existing columns and balustrades in the atrium space above.
A full strip out and replacement of the mechanical and electrical services includes new contemporary lighting system and the replacement of the existing emergency lighting, breathing building ventilation and the reinstallation and upgrade of the existing AV systems.
All of these works require the school to remain operational throughout with minimal disruption to a busy school.
